We specialise in homemade ramen and charcoal-grilled yakitori. The bar seats you close enough to watch the skewers turn, and the sake list runs deep enough to be worth asking about. Come for a casual bite, a date, or a group.

‘My favourite ramen restaurant in all of Adelaide. Restaurant reminds me of a hazy shinjuku night, great service and great food. Will definitely be coming back again!’

The broth is
the whole bowl.

Tonkotsu is simmered for hours from pork bones and cartilage, long enough that the gelatine comes out of them and the broth thickens on its own. The noodles are cut here rather than bought in, which is where the chew comes from. Nothing in the bowl is there to pad it out, and there is no MSG in any of it.

‘The best pork broth ramen in Adelaide! I’ve tried many ramen restaurant, but this is the BEST!’

Eight of them, from the pork tonkotsu through to a clear chicken shio, a spicy miso and a vegetarian bowl built on soybean milk and mushroom broth. Tofu, okra, eggplant and two mushrooms go over the grill as well.

Over the coals

Everything that can be grilled, is grilled.

Charcoal, tare, and a cook who does not walk away from the grill. There is nothing else to it.

The counter

Chicken, pork, seafood and vegetables over binchotan, two skewers a serve. Small plates, rice bowls and a long sake list beside them.

Sake, beer,
and wine.

A wide range, poured cold or warm depending on the bottle and the weather. Ask what is open. That is usually the best answer we have.

‘Had a great time dining here! Nice selection of Japanese food to choose from. Wasn’t crowded or loud, so I could easily carry on a conversation without raising my voice. Nice and comfortable atmosphere.’

‘Love the ambience, looks fancy from outside and feels like in Japan when I sat down in their bar seating area.’
